There are various ways you can enjoy playing Champions Arena – with full utilization of blockchain, Champions Arena is a cross-platform that has multiple game modes you can enjoy. Each Champion has their unique characteristics which results in everyone having their very own playstyle. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
PvP and PvE Battles
Campaign and Arena gameplay modes both share a turn-based style, where the only distinction is that Arena matches are against real online players, while Campaign focuses on improving your skills against AI-controlled fighters. As you progress in Campaign you further progress in the game hence this mode is PvE while Arena is PvP.
Once you’ve chosen your initial team of 4 champions, you’ll engage in a battle where all your deployed champions are visible. The sequence of attacks is determined by the speed stat of your champions.
Here’s the breakdown of how battles progress:
You start by selecting the champions you want to take into battle. These champions can be used in both Campaign and Arena modes. In battle, you and your opponent’s deployed champions are visible to each other, providing an overview of the upcoming actions.
The speed attribute of your champions determines the order in which they will attack. This allows you to strategically plan your moves based on the expected sequence of attacks.
To advance in battle, you choose cards to use with your champions. The process involves selecting an elemental attack type and the opponent you want to target.
There are three card types aligned with the three character attack subsets: Harmony, Prosperity, and Destruction. Matching the right card type with the corresponding character attribute grants damage bonuses and additional advantages outlined on the card.
Mayhem – Passive PvP
Let’s delve into the Mayhem game mode. It’s distinct in its more laid-back approach compared to the dynamic action of Campaign battles or Arena matchups. Mayhem provides players with a chance to engage in a different kind of gameplay, one that’s passive yet rewarding. Here’s what you can expect from the Mayhem function:
Mayhem offers a unique way to interact with your champions. You can send them on AI-controlled quests that are time-bound. These quests yield valuable rewards, adding a layer of strategic resource-gathering to the game.
This questing system can be likened to mining functions seen in other games. It involves setting your champions on tasks and awaiting their return with the spoils. It’s a more relaxed way to gain rewards. Within Mayhem, players have the option to not only send their champions on quests but also engage in other activities. You can choose to plunder opponents, with the advantage of seeing their character levels before engaging. Additionally, there are raids which are community-driven events. In these raids, players collectively aim to deal damage to achieve significant rewards.
The raids and community battles within Mayhem introduce a distinct structure compared to the typical gameplay modes. They present slower-paced challenges, allowing players to take a breather and appreciate the visual aspects of the game.
It’s noteworthy that while your champions are out on timed missions in Mayhem, you’re not restricted from playing in the Campaign or Arena.
Cards can be stacked up to three times, boosting their damage with each stack. Each turn, players can merge a set of cards for added impact, and smart planning can lead to multiple combos from a single switch. These combos enhance the strength of your turn significantly.
Ranks – Seasons
Get ready to engage in thrilling competition within the Champions Arena Battle Arenas as they introduce seasonal gameplay, shaping player ranks based on PvP match performance. At the end of each season, ranks reset, but before the new season starts, a pre-season phase allows players to freely experiment with decks and even craft new characters, fostering strategic creativity. The aim is to secure higher spots on leaderboards and earn rewarding prizes.
Estate & Nexus
Estate is just like a gaming guild. Players can assemble their team and enhance their Estate with their contribution, emphasizing the value of recruiting capable players to your guild.
Nexus is like a tool that enables players to rent out Champions and diversify their playing deck. The rewards that are earned through a rented NFT Champion are shared amongst the Player, the Nexus owner and the owner of the rented Champion.
Tokenomics – Gems & $GALA
The currency responsible for in-game purchases i.e that spent on Champions and gacha boxes etc. is Gems. While the official token utilized for Champions Arena is $GALA. The primary way to earn $GALA will be through Victory Points (VP) earned through PvP combat, these VP are then converted to $GALA at the end of the day.
Gems will be purchased by $GALA tokens or fiat.
