Two anticipated gaming related NFT collections are having a hard time minting out their collections on OpenSea. In a market where gaming is the current meta, this may come as a surprise. Sunflower Land is one of the most popular play to earn pixel farming simulation game available right now.
Whereas WAGMI Games is not released yet and the team has been pumping a lot of resources into their marketing efforts. It turns out a .189 eth minting price is too steep for their Founders Pack. At the moment of writing only a mere 656 WAGMI Games Founders Packs have been minted out of a whopping 10,000 supply. Of which 600 are pre-minted for the teams reserve. If all packs would have sold the team had raised 1890 ETH worth approximately $3mm.
WAGMI Founders Pack
The WAGMI Games team heavily overestimated the price they can ask for their Founders Pack mint. Despite being featured on an upcoming television show ‘The Next Crypto Gem’, and having a Genesis collection with a floor above 1 eth prior to this new mint. The team even got a sponsored post and feature on X’s biggest and most influential Space community, The Roundtable Show.
Another interesting observation made by brydisanto.eth is how the company made their own valuation for the cards ahead of the mint, claiming them to be worth anything between $560 and $4,000 depending on the rarity.
The team has not made any adjustment or new update yet on how they plan to move forward. At this moment the mint is still ongoing with no changes in mint price or total supply.
The Founders Packs contain 32 cards each with a variety of Rare, Epic, or Legendary cards. They are tradeable without gas fees on Immutable, a popular L2 for the Ethereum blockchain. Other utility includes early access to the WAGMI Defense game before it’s release which is planned for Q1 2024.
Sunflower Land’s Bud Companions
Sunflower Land has done considerably better (so far) than WAGMI Games, yet also has not been able to fully mint out their collection. In the case of Sunflower Land they minted their very first collection, which was also featured on the OpenSea Drops page exclusively. The ‘Bud’ companions managed to make it to a supply of 2,621 instead of the initial 5,000 which was planned.
Despite this, the team quickly anticipated on the market conditions and closed the mint. They went ahead with the reveal only one hour after this announcement. The Bumpkin community members who minted their Buds are satisfied with their reveal and the smaller available supply. And Sunflower Land has successfully added a new dimension of exciting gameplay in a crypto bear market. Buds offer players not only in-game utility, but also access to bonus content, perks and giveaways!
