Tryhards

Tryhards is a competitive top down shooter game in the NFT space that takes place on Planet X. It is both a fast paced player-vs-player (PvP) and player-vs-environment (PvE). The game allows players to use their character (Fanatics) and weapons to fight each other. There’s an option to be social with other players in the social hub, or to take on NPCs for additonal rewards.

For some reason the team behind this game is not (very) active or responsive as of lately. This could change in the future, so make sure to monitor the situation in their Discord.

Winning battles grants full ownership to any acquired in-game asset rewards the player receives, both NFTs and cryptocurrency. Since Tryhards is leveraging Polygon’s blockchain infrastructure, they are using web3 technology fully to its potential. The immersive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game also has a native token, named TRY. Therefor Tryhards is a play-to-earn (P2E) game. The team behind Tryhards is clear about the so called ‘pay to win’ concept. The game will always be skill-based, you can not buy your way into victory. The characters NFTs only affect rarity, not statistics or in-game performace.

TRY token utility

The TRY token is available on Polygon and BSC Chain. The token can be used to purchase your very own Fanatic and a weapon in the form of an NFT. Fanatics are in-game avatars who belong to different factions — Apes, Robots, Undeads, and Survivors. They are essential elements as you cannot play the game without attaining them, therefore it is key to have a Metamask wallet connected to the Polygon network.

In the game, players utilize their characters  and weapons to engage in battles against each other, staking their native $TRY tokens and earning rewards. Besides the competitive aspect, the game also features a social hub where players can interact with each other and NPCs to access various in-game services.

NFT — Staking & Upgrading

As mentioned earlier, it is necessary to acquire the in-game assets in the form of NFTs . You’ll need both a Fanatic and a Weapon to start playing Tryhards. The NFTs have six different quality levels with a higher quality indicating an NFT with higher utility. The quality also marks how much “Universe Power” a player gets.
(The Universe Power – Purchased level 1 NFTs of any quality receive fixed staking rewards, with higher base UP NFTs earning better rewards. So high base UP NFT’s = better staking rewards.)

The NFT can be purchased through the in-game marketplace called “Plaza” or through the luck based loot-box system called the “smuggler” which is available for $100 TRY.

Simply by owning a Fanatic and Weapon NFTs, players get staking rewards according to their total Universe Power. This is calculated by adding up the total of Fanatic and Weapon NFTs.

Higher level NFTs not only increase Staking rewards but also perform better in PvP and PvE situations. One can upgrade their NFT by having the right amount of crystals or players will be able to find the right NPC and upgrade the NFT in-game.

What Are Crystals?

Crystals are the main source of income for players on Planet X. They can be used to upgrade Weapons and Fanatics and can also be traded in the in-game marketplace.

Crystals — Where do I get them?

Crafting crystals are rewarded through the game. They can either be obtained from opening lootboxes bought from Smuggler or they can be earned from winning PvE and PvP battles. 

There are 6 types of Crystals:

• Normal
• Refined
• Unique
• Elite
• Superior
• Legendary

Crystals of lower quality also have the ability to be converted into higher quality crystals!

(For example – 57 Unique crystals can be composed into 19 Elite crystals)

You can also use more than 1 lower tier crystal and combine them to turn them into a higher level crystal and also do the opposite – decompose them in multiple lower tier crystals.

There are 4 Factions to choose from and there are 5 Fanatics on each Faction.

The Apes have the 5 following Fanatics:

Know Your Skills

There are 10 different types of skills and you can select specific ones before each round to win.

Armor

For 5 seconds you receive an additional shield to your basic shield. It instantly restores the basic shield.

Block

Evades all incoming damage for 2 seconds.

Dash

Characters make a dash 5-7 meters while still being vulnerable to damage.

Heal

Increases up to 30% HP  of the character and 20% to nearby teammates.

Jump

The ability to jump over obstacles and higher grounds.

Laser

Produces a destructive beam.

Reflect

For 2 seconds your character reflects back all incoming damage back to the opponent.

Stealth

Your character gains the ability to go invisible for 4 seconds.

Stun

A stun grenade that stops your opponent in their tracks for 3 seconds.

Teleport

Your character can teleport to a limited distance in a 2- meter range. This ability takes 2 seconds and can not be done over obstacles.

Game Lore — Summary

A dystopian future of Earth, now known as Planet X. After a series of technological revolutions, a terrible event took place. It was called the Satoshi Massacre, which caused great damage. Life on the planet was at risk, so the people had to leave and find new homes. After over a thousand years, the planet started to recover, and its former inhabitants want to return. To prevent another destructive war, they decided to create the Arena, a place to settle their old conflicts without hurting the planet again.

PvP Ranked Matches

On Planet X’s Arena, players can pick from 1vs1, 2vs2, and 3vs3 queues. The aim is to reach and maintain the top spot on the leaderboards to win cool rewards like NFTs, $TRY, or in-game items. The Tryhards ranked season will begin when the 3D game officially launches.For more excitement, players can also bet in $TRY during ranked matches.

PvP Casual Matches

Players might not always want intense battles, so casual players are given the chance to play normal matches with their friends to try out new strategies without pressure.

PvE Dungeon Fights

Players have the opportunity to take part in PvE expeditions across the dungeons on different planets in the Tryhards Metaverse: Simios, Esperanza, Magmar, and Talosium. In these dungeons, players will encounter various monsters and bosses. By defeating them, players can discover valuable loot and equipment.
