Kiraverse is a free to play battle royale third-person MMO shooter game incorporating web3 elements. Immersive fun gameplay is the goal, with an added incentive to be as competitive as you can be to unlock or rent characters, skins, weapons, and more.
Development has been ongoing consistently since 2022, and new development updates are being pushed out very regularly. A lot of early child diseases have been smoothened out already, and the game experience is expected to further improve. Kiraverse is often being compared to Fortnite, and speculations about involvement of Epic Games fuel some of the excitement around this web3 shooter. The game is being developed on top of Immutable’s infrastructrure along with Unreal Engine 5.
Kiraverse teaming up with Gamestop NFT
On September 30th of 2022 it was GameStop NFT who introduced Kiraverse, as the genesis NFT collection would become available on their marketplace. GameStop NFT is a marketplace for digital collectibles (NFTs) with true ownership for holders. GameStop used to support their own native wallet, but due to uncertain regulations in the crypto industry support for their own wallet is being discontinued. Kiraverse is developing their own in-game native marketplace as well and making good progress.
Established artists
The Kira genesis collection has been carefully crafted by Antoni and Marc Tudisco, and consists of 10,000 virtual 3D avatars. The Tudisco Brothers, Antoni & Marc, are originally from Hamburg, Germany. They have established themselves in the digital art sector and have collaborated with companies and brands including Nike, Adidas, Versace, Puma, Apple, Samsung, Google, Adobe, BMW, Ledger, and Mercedes Benz. Their distinct and vibrant style has been showcased in publications like Vogue, HighSnobiety, and Hypebeast. Additionally, they have worked alongside individuals such as Will Smith, Swae Lee, and Wiz Khalifa, among others.
Param Labs behind Kiraverse
The gaming studio behind Kiraverse however is Param Labs. It’s a gaming studio slash technology development company who’s main focus is delivering advanced games of the highest quality, with the added benefit that they enable player-owner digital collectibles in the form of NFTs. If Kiraverse succeeds in their mission by successfully onboarding millions of web2 players, more high-quality multiplayer games will emerge out of Param Labs.
The Bridged and Sentients
The Bridged is a more recent NFT collection of art also crafted by artists Antoni & Marc Tudisco. This NFT collection provides holders with special access to Kiraverse, a third-person multiplayer shooter game. Players from around the world can compete, attain achievements, and unlock or rent various game assets such as characters, skins, and weapons. The Bridged consists of 8 avatars: the “Bridged Camarillas”, which are available for minting for a specified duration. Once the Open Edition minting period ends, each mint will transform into one of the 5 Camarilla characters. The other 3 avatars, termed the “Bridged Sentients”, are exclusively available to Camarillas owners through a “Burn and Redeem” event organized by Kiraverse.
True Ownership of Digital Collectibles
One key difference between Fortnite and Kiraverse is the deep integration of NFTs. Not only does Kiraverse have their own collections, they also enable integration of 3D avatars from any other collection through partnerships and collaborations. Through this process they have incorporated Doodles, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and other notable so called profile picture projects (PFPs) into the actual gameplay. The development team behind Kira is working on ways to efficiently integrate full NFT collections, often consisting of 10,000 unique PFPs. Technology to do this is still in it’s early stages, as it’s a time consuming process to manually create playable and interoperable 3D avatars for each and every NFT.
Free to Play
Gamers who decide to play for free have a more limited gaming experience in terms of which characters they can select to play with. Players without a KIRA asset are also limited in choosing their weapons, skins, and other upgrades. They are also earning less in-game achievements for their gameplay. For players starting out with the free to play modes it might make sense to explore the KIRA ecosystem later down the road.
Being a part of the KIRA ecosystem comes with more utility and perks. Rental of your NFT could be a way to garnish passive income. The internal currency being used is called KIRA bucks, which is purely an in-game currency similar to V-bucks on Fortnite. Therefor the currency can not be swapped for other cryptocurrencies or FIAT to stay clear from regulatory territory.
Mobile is coming to Kiraverse
Kiraverse is currently available for download to desktop players only. Though still early and in a beta stage, everyone can install and try out this battle royale shooter game. Since there aren’t too many players playing the game yet, waiting ques and matchmaking are not optimal yet. A mobile version of Kiraverse is currently in development and just a few days ago the team ‘leaked’ some first spoilers for this. The mobile app for Kiraverse could definitely propel adoption among more casual web2 gamers.

Game Modes
Kiraverse launched with a variety of game play modes. Battle Royale is the most well known game mode in this genre of gaming. It features solo battles, duos, trios, as well as squads. In the elimination game mode players will compete in 1v1 battles, up to 10v10. By surviving or winning matches, players unlock achievements. The good part about Kiraverse for web2 adoption is that new players don’t need to have any knowledge about web3, crypto, wallets, or NFTs. The aim is a seamless gaming experience with the idea that players will slowly dip their toes in the web3 waters further down the line.
