Paradise Tycoon is a cross-platform game which means it is accessible on both your mobile and PC. Compete, build and socialize to your hearts’ fill because there is no such thing as ‘game over’. A massive multiplayer game fueled by user generated content, all while being an open-ended game.
Gameplay
Let’s dive into the adventure prepared for you in Paradise Tycoon. Create your unique avatar, head to an uninhabited island, and start crafting your dream paradise. Dive into collecting, crafting, trading, building, questing, and connecting with others. It’s a dynamic loop that keeps you engaged and progressing, whether you’re exploring nearby lands or the vast metaverse.
Port Ohana
There will be mentionings of Port Ohana multiple times so let me tell you what that is. Port Ohana in Paradise Tycoon is a vibrant village with NPCs that bring the action. Here, meet traders, vendors, and buffs, starting your trading journey for MOANI tokens. the NPC Trader hooks you up with resources, crafting gear, and loot. At the Vendor, grab consumables, items, and tools to jazz up your scene, with the help of MOANI tokens.
The Auction House is where the real deal goes down. It’s a bustling marketplace where players trade, sell, and swap items, boosting the game’s vibe and economy. Player-to-Player trading is primarily done here.
Avatar Customization
First things first, let’s talk about your avatar. Before getting started on your journey, you have to decide the looks for your character. The look you decide will then be finalized for all the other players to see. Customizable features include hair, eyes, torso, skin color and more. The next step is deciding a name for your in-game persona. You can also choose a title that you can choose later on as well from your achievements.
There is also an in-game wardrobe so you have the ability to dress your avatar just as you please to stand-out in absolutely any social setting.
Questing
Moving on we have Quests. There are primarily three kinds of quests you can embark on: Main Quests, Side Quests and Seasonal Quests.
Let’s talk about Main Quests first. In Paradise Tycoon, the Main Quests kick off right as you start. It serves as a tutorial through your first-time experience. You’ll meet Wallace “Wally” Bets from the Port Ohana Welcoming Committee, entrusted with making Port Ohana and its neighboring islands tourist hotspots. Wally, with his sometimes tricky intentions, will assist you in gathering, fixing workshops, and planting seeds – all essential early tasks.
Here is a picture of Wally. (To get you familiarized)
Let’s talk Side Quests now – Alongside Main and Seasonal quests, players will stumble upon numerous side quests from NPCs in Port Ohana. These Side Quests might involve anything from joining events to exploring unique places or aiding the Port Ohana Welcoming Committee in diverse chores. Some quests could even blend elements with other partnered games, enriching the experience and linking players to a wider gaming universe.
And as for Seasonal Quests – You can only gain access to Seasonal Quests if you possess a Paradise Passport. Seasonal Quests offer in-game rewards and monthly opportunities for free NFT mints. Throughout the Beta phase, specific Quest can help you get access to Genesis areas, necessitating ownership of a Genesis Key NFT. These NFT rewards garnered during Beta are uniquely exclusive.
To acquire a Paradise Passport during the Beta phase, players must amass sufficient Paradise Coupons. Subsequent to the Global Launch, this Passport turns into a reward achievable by players who gain a designated level of progress within the game.
Resource Collection
Resource Collection is an essential part of Paradise Tycoon. There are four main-ways of gathering resources:
- Foraging
- Farming
- Fishing
- Natural Resources
Foraging
Foraging is the process of searching for resources at the bottom of the deep blue sea. Venture across your land, nearby areas, and outworld locations to uncover treasures like food, stones, sticks, and even rare alien metal beneath the waves through the practice of foraging; tools and production spots might be needed, and new resources emerge daily.
Farming
To farm, pick a spot, go through planting, growth, and harvest stages; gather seeds like wheat, corn, or tomatoes (grab freebies in Port Ohana, but there’s a daily cap!), plus buy, get from NFT crew, or trade for more.
After planting seeds, let crops grow, then harvest using tools you craft or buy; store or swap harvested goods, convert them to consumables in production spots, and restart the cycle or let an NFT crew member handle it.
Fishing
You can enjoy fishing in the clear waters. Get a fishing rod (through craft, buy, or auction), find a spot on the beach or sail to the sea, and engage in the minigame for patience and timing. Bigger fish need careful reeling, and a better rod boosts your chances – not everyone reels in a big one, can you?
Infinite Natural Resources
In Paradise Tycoon, gathering resources is like farming without planting. Collect minerals, wood, and sand endlessly, with crew and tools, and even find rare items at times.
Crafting
The Resources that you gathered with all your hard work can finally be put to use. Introducing Crafting!
You can use your crafted items or you can trade them with others at the Auction Hall.
The essential ingredient that is required for crafting are blueprints. Blueprints can be acquired through in-game rewards through quests. Exploring the world or from a specific house. A blueprint is mandatory in crafting an item. You can even craft different looking items with different base materials.
As aforementioned, Houses – let me introduce you to them.
There are Five different houses namely:
- House of Craftsmanship
- House of Farmers
- House of Chefs
- House of Rangers
- House of Alchemists
Each House grants you the skills for a specific skill, as their name suggests. It is also possible to achieve mastery in more than one house at a time but not many do that. So… which house are you choosing?
Workbench — Crafting Location
A Workbench is needed for crafting whatever you want to create. You can either locate one or make one of your own. You can get a beginner workbench for free at Port Ohana but keep in mind, to craft top tier items one must need a top-tier workbench.
Some items that have been crafted with very unique resources can be minted as NFTs and these can be further traded of course.
Note: Commonly crafted items cannot be minted.
Building
Indulge yourself in a world of limitless possibilities through building and upgrading. Be as creative as you want – when it comes to shaping your island, there are two main categories of structures: Production Buildings, which increase output and refine resources, and Residential Buildings, where you can craft living spaces that show off your style. Expand, customize, and thrive in a vibrant realm of construction and personalization!
You can add a storage room and even place your workstation in a Production building. Residential buildings are like your home, you can customize it and turn it into whatever pleases your eyes.
I also find it worthy of mentioning that most buildings are upgradable which usually means an enhancement in its utility. Same goes for your storage – upgradable.
Tycoon for a reason
Paradise Tycoon has been bestowed with this name for a reason. Tycoon games are known for showcasing entrepreneurship. The smoother and faster your production, the better you progress.
Gather and refine your resources is cool and all but it’s also important to take care of your buildings and your crops. It is also a very essential part of the game. Without proper care and maintenance your productivity will plummet so stay on your toes!
Singular Token Economy – Moani
The team at Paradise Tycoons had 3 things in mind when coming up with the token model: Simplicity, Sustainability, and Safety. Moani is a singular token model which already proves that Empires Not Vampires have nailed the token’s simplicity.
To make things truly sustainable, the amount of tokens coming into and leaving the game’s economy are ensured to even out. Bringing tokens into a game economy comes with its own set of risks, and those who know their way around game economies can confirm the possible problems. To handle these risks, a very cautious and step-by-step approach will be assumed as the token economy is being introduced.
Moani – Utility
Once you’ve aced the tutorial, players can get creative with Moani to level up their gaming adventure. For instance, they can put Moani to work in various exciting ways, such as…
- Trading with players
- In-game Purchases
- Minting
- UGC participation fees
How to Get Moani?
There are multiple avenues for you to get your hands on Moani tokens:
- By selling resources at the Auction House
- Completing Quests
- Participation in events
CoFounder Timo Juuti
“Blockchain technology offers immense freedom in game design. We are putting in-game assets into the blockchain as NFTs, with a Creative Commons license for developers to use in their games. It makes them available for anyone and not controlled by us; this is real digital ownership. This creates some exciting future scenarios and new ways to build IPs.“
So pack your bags and get ready to set sail to your new Paradise Island. Start a new journey, develop a crew and with their help, progress in the game. Hold onto your Moani tokens so you can also have the ability to control the in-game governance. Empires Not Vampires aim to make a game that has interoperability and sustainability granting players with their own digital assets in-game. In a world of crises, they develop games fostering unity and eco-friendly innovation instead of competitive PvP.
